Sonterra Fellowship Church update:
We are so excited about our first three months as a new church. We had an average attendance of 75 people in morning worship services. We have mid week home Bible Studies called, Community Group. The average attendance in the Community Groups was 41.
We have already baptized six people. Three adults, two teenagers and one child. It is always exciting to baptize but very exciting to baptize adults.
To the right is a picture of Josh Wenzel. Josh is a 23 year old young man that accepted Christ on the Monday evening following our first public service. The next Wednesday evening Josh received his first Bible at our Wednesday evening Community Group. Josh was baptized on his 23 birthday! What a exciting birthday gift!
Your continued support helps us to reach non-believers, just like Josh Wenzel.
Who we are reaching at Sonterra Fellowship
We are making a focused effort to reach non believers at Sonterra Fellowship. It was never our desire to start a new church and just attract other Christians. We have been surprised at our ability to connect with non believers. We have had about 100 guest. Of those we have been able to keep about 90% of the inactive or non believers. On the other hand, we have only connected with about 10% of the Christian guest. At this time more than half of our church is made up of non believers or people that were inactive Christians. The cool thing about non believers is that they have no expectations. They are just excited to join with others and discover spiritual matters.
Most Christians that we have encountered have preconceived ideas and they expect and want programs!

At Sonterra Fellowship we are not in the business of creating programs to reach Christians. We are about reaching non believers and sharing Gods Love!
How we might be different from your church:

*Coffee and breakfast in the worship center
*Preaching in blue jeans
*No pulpit just a bar stool
*Contemporary worship
*No hymn books
*No Sunday School

Our greatest challenge: The problem with affectively reaching non-believers is that they do not understand the concept of tithing. It takes a great deal of money to start a new church. I often share with people that salvation in Jesus Christ is free but evangelism is very expensive.
We greatly need for you to continue your financial support of Try God Ministries.
Missions in the Dominican Republic
Dominican Republic:
We keep in close contact with our missionary friends in the Dominican Republic. Two of our friends were with us in November, speaking at Sonterra Fellowship. It brought back many great memories and joy to spend time with them. The Thomas and the Larson families are moving to Nagua in the Dominican Republic. It is a town on the east coast with about 250,000 people. Only one other missionary family lives in the area. By way of Try God Ministries, we want to raise funds to help buy a back up power system for their homes. The system works off of BIG batteries. The batteries cost about $100.00 each. They will need 24 batteries.
If you are willing to help just place the word batteries in your check memo. You can also give online at and check the batteries for missionaries box.
Jill and I support this ministry and I hope that you will as well! We are planning a mission trip to the DR in the summer of 2007. Will you join us?

Different Ways of Giving:
If you would like to continue to give to Try God Ministries via the remittance envelope, we appreciate your gift.
If you have access to the internet we would prefer that you give online via our website. You can write checks and use credit cards for a one time gift or monthly gifts.

How we are using your money:

Try God Ministries is giving $1000.00 per month to the new church start Sonterra Fellowship. We are also sending $400.00 per month to Russia for our orphanage. We are giving $100.00 per month to the missionaries in the Dominican Republic. At this point our budget is $1,500 per month. We need your help to meet this budget!
